For the longest time I was using the exposure effect in resolume to do this nice audio reactive dimming and one day I realized I could make it better, this effect is the result of that. Set both the exposure and circle size parameters to external fft and watch the magic happen, as the music cuts out so do your visuals, but they will fade away in a nice shrinking circle reminiscent of how old TVs shut off. This effect takes a lot of the work off your hands as a VJ and makes sure you are always on time with the DJ allowing you more free time to play with effects and get clips ready. This can be applied to the composition for a dramatic effect or too each layer for a more subtle effect.
